Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to remain in lineup
Saad Yousuf of The Athletic doesn't believe Marchment will spend time as a healthy scratch, even if he takes some bad penalties.
ANALYSIS
Marchment has already accumulated 26 PIM through 11 contests to go with two goals, four points and 10 hits. Part of the reason why Marchment is likely to stay in the lineup is the Stars' injury situation -- Matt Duchene and Radek Faksa are both day-to-day with upper-body issues -- and their cap situation makes it impractical to call up an alternative from the AHL at this time. Marchment's contract, a four-year, $18 million deal that runs through 2025-26, might also work in his favor. While it's easy to say he's getting overpaid for what he's bringing to the table, Yousuf believes the Stars will be reluctant to bench such an expensive player for any significant stretch of time even in a scenario where there's arguably a slightly better alternative serving as a healthy scratch.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
It took Marchment a little while to establish himself as a full-time NHL player, but he arrived on the scene a season ago in an emphatic way. He ended up playing in 54 games for the Panthers, finishing with 18 goals and 47 points. The production was particularly impressive considering Marchment saw virtually no time (0:52 per game) with the man advantage. Marchment's breakout came at just the right time. He was eligible for unrestricted free agency this past summer and was linked to Carolina before ultimately ending up in Dallas on a four-year, $18 million deal. The contract will look like a bargain if Marchment continues progressing and there's no real reason he shouldn't given the fact he will play this entire season at age 27.
